They always go further than anyone else. What has been done before by many others as a copy in vinyl, Arte decided to do with 'the real stuff':

As you know, we love to be challenged, so we were all excited when they asked us to participate in this project. Our part would be adding the backing and trimming the goods.

In no time the sample material arrived and there my search began for the right backing substrates, the glues, knives and reproduction parameters.
Lab sampling is one thing, but moving this project into production -however artisanal it might be- was the real challenge. All credits go to our production team who invented a way to carry out the assignment. Given the fact that this is such an expensive material, one needs to be very convinced before starting a test...
