The story of the Kizama surface pattern is a bit a bizar one. A few years ago I was walking in production and noticed on the table of one of our craftsman a really worn out cutting board. I just loved the texture of it. All these lines in all directions creating a certain rhythm. So I photographed it, knowing that I would use it one day.

And here it is: Kizama, meaning 'engraved' in Japanese. On the wall it has this graphic look inbetween etched and engraved. Printed on a very tactile material with a smooth, warm and cosy touch.
